Hi everyone, here at Ettus we've been discussing ways to get code to everyone faster and get interested parties more involved in our development. One thing we'll be doing is pushing more development branches out public.
One thing we've experimented with is improving our streaming performance. Our trusted intern Paul has pushed some changes to this branch: https://github.com/EttusResearch/uhd/tree/sph_no_task_barrier It's a small change (it serializes the conversion calls in our streamers), and several people have already confirmed it improves performance for them. We'll be pushing this into master soon, but I'd like to make sure there's no one with an unusual setup for whom this would cause issues. Most interesting to us would be people with high channel counts, and slow-ish CPUs. We're very happy about any feedback!
