Just 2 comments on this: - sudo *is* required when PyBOMBS wants to call apt-get or yum. In this case, PyBOMBS does the sudo for you, so you shouldn't call PyBOBMS with sudo.
- Why, then, does PyBOMBS not use the same check as build-gnuradio? Well, it could, but for people installing stuff to /usr/local using PyBOMBS, you still need to do the sudo manually to get write access there. Might be something worth fixing.
