Hi, I tend to agree with Marcus - if anything, this should be an opt-in feature. I would prefer a combination of a setting per flowgraph or generate.
As for the issue with modified python code: this could be easily caught with a hash over the whole file. On (re-)import an automated re-synthesize and diff could be used to analyze what changed.
