Hi Tom,
sounds like you should try throttling more; the "display stuck" syndrome is 
quite commonly found when signal
processing is using to much cpu time so that there's no time left to update the 
gui or react to user interaction.

I have a throttle in the flow graph. This behavior seems to happen after adding a block to the flow 
graph, it doesn't just suddenly appear.
