Heres kind of a checklist: If you installed UHD from source, did you build with USB support? Also, if from source, did you install the udev rules? http://files.ettus.com/uhd_docs/manual/html/transport.html#setup-udev-for-usb-linux When you plug in the usrp, does it show when you run lsusb? Also, VMs can be problematic.
