OS11.4 KDE by default uses pulseaudio as audio-system which might cause some trouble there :), especially if you haven't installed ALSA or OSS. If you change to ALSA direct, you'll have the problem that GNURadio wants the audio hardware exclusively for itself, which collides with KDE notification and (if you use it) speech-dispatcher.
