When I first tried UHD few weeks ago it couldn't find my USRP1 either. After a while I realized that I was missing libusb-1.0 and UHD got compiled without USRP1 support (the old driver uses libusb-0.1). So check the cmake output and see if USRP1 support is enabled or not.
