I did not use apt-get to install GnuRadio instead I just downloaded and built the source files.
svn co http://gnuradio.org/svn/gnuradio/trunk gnuradio This will create a directory called gnuradio in the directory that you are in when you ran that command. If you do not have svn, use the following command to install it sudo apt-get install subversion I followed the rest of the instructions here http://gnuradio.org/trac/wiki/BuildGuide and also here http://gnuradio.org/trac/wiki/UbuntuInstall Just post more questions if you have them!
