Hello!
We have been waiting for DFB2. I am interested in employing DirectFB in
a custom distro, but with 1.x it seems not to be feasible. So what will
DirectFB be in the end? Is there a git tree, and if so why isn't it
public? If i understood well, Philips seems to be using DFB2.
More questions are: Will it support DRI2, KMS? Will it have better
chances concerning drivers? How will the API change? I am talking about
DFB itself, not support of other libs. Is it coming any time soon? Why
do you let new technologies like Wayland emerge without informing the
community that there is another solution that is mature? Why do you let
people think DirectFB is dead?
DirectFB can certainly be an alternative for the desktop. A very good
one imho.
I hope for some feedback. Thank you for all the work you 've done so
far. Thank you for the things you want to do. I wish i can ride the DFB
train soon.
