Hi everyone,

I have a question regarding the IDirectFBSurface::GetFramebufferOffset
and have never understood the need for it since the Lock function
provides a pointer to the raw bits (and needs to be called prior to
GetFramebufferOffset anyway).

What base address is a physical memory frame buffer offset returned by
IDirectFBSurface::GetFramebufferOffset supposed to be relative to?

>From my investigation into the DFB core software and client usage, it
appears to maybe assume that fbdev is used with a traditional frame
buffer device. This API function doesn't appear compatible with the
DirectFB 1.0.1 systems driver we are developing for the Intel(R) Media
Processor CE 3100 (especially in the multiple application usage model).

Thanks,
Timothy
