>Which resolution do you use? The kernel might not allocate enough memory.

fbset -i gives me:
mode "640x480-16"
        # D: 5.556 MHz, H: 8.075 kHz, V: 16.412 Hz
        geometry 640 480 640 648 16
        timings 180000 40 4 8 2 4 2
        accel false
        rgba 5/11,6/5,5/0,0/0
endmode

How do I know the kernel is allocating enough memory for it?

>It's also important which device belongs to which layer...
Could you explain this more please?

>Really a pain... why not have a clean driver in user space only and forget
about
all those different fb driver versions with all their bugs and drawbacks...

Is DirectFB not using the Davinci driver that installed with it??????

Thanks for your help
