I'm running 1.1 on my workstation with XDirectFB etc. so it's not really
unstable, maybe testing :)

With a new roadmap for 2.0 evolving quickly it won't be a lot of time to
make the 1.2 stable release. On the other hand, we could branch off 1.1
and work on its stabilization for 1.2 while heavy changes occur in the
new 1.9 trunk.

So remaining work is to freeze the API and fix bugs or reimplement the
features that broke with the new surface core.

There's nothing new in development for 1.1 except one or two things that
might be required for Cairo or DirectVG, and of course patches that are
not integrated, yet.

The following dates seem reasonable:
03/08 - branch off 1.1 and start development of 1.9 in trunk
04/08 - freeze 1.1 API, start stabilization, including fixes made in trunk
06/08 - first development release of 1.9 (with 2.0 architecture)?
07/08 - release 1.2
0x/08 - freeze 1.9 and start stabilization for 2.0 release
xx/08 - release 2.0
