Hi Kritek,

I am successfully using DirectVNC 0.7.5 in combination with libVNCServer-0.7.1. As far as I know, you need libvncserver installed for directvnc to work.
The vnc support in DirectFB is an entirely different animal: in theory it allows you to use any DirectFB app remotely by specifying --dfb:system=vnc on the command line (if the proggy and DirectFB were compiled with vnc support (=libvncserver)). You need to do a configure --enable-vnc in the DirectFB directory.
In practise, there is a bug which was apparently introduced while putting Leonard Schneider's patch into the CVS version: as soon as you invoke any  dfb program with --dfb:system=vnc the program segfaults because of some reference to an unallocated memory area. I contacted Leonard with this info but got no response, but I will have to find that bug in the next couple of days because I desperately need the functionality. Since I have been out of town more than in the office and will be in the next future, I am hoping that somebody does the dirty work for me (hint, hint,..).

Seriously, I am looking forward to share any experiences on that subject, so let's keep each other posted..

directvnc

Hi Christian, I'm new to directfb, I have compiled and installed
0.9.24 successfully, but am now experiencing peoblems trying to
compile directvnc 0.7.5. I notice in your directfb listmail that you
have libvncserver installed. I didn't see that as a requirement for
building directvnc, and I dont have it installed, do you know if thats
a requirement? I vaguely recall seeing something about no vnc during
the directfb compile process, could you shed some light on my
confusion?

Thanks
