If these were procedurally generated objects, I can understand it.
For static shapes, you can always clone interesting shapes and add or move
connection points as you wish.

Yes, that's one of the issues with current Dia. But also this is an issue with
people trying to write essay inside an action UML block.

These are procedurally generated. Not currently possible by the end user.
