At least for Class shape - you are not right.
Every attribute has 2 connection points - on left and on right side.

If you are meaning a mechansm like connection pont editing like in
LibreOffise Draw shapes - yes, it will be a good feature)
but current dia-xml format is not sutable fir it. Dia chould release a new
vercion of format.
