More good news in this direction: Microsoft is giving away the Visual C++ Toolkit 2003 for free: http://msdn.microsoft.com/visualc/vctoolkit2003/ I don't have the time to test it, I suspect that you'll experiencing c-runtime mixing problems. See e.g. bugzilla bug #106409: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=106409 For testing this kit should be fine, serious development should stick with VC++ 6. Hans please correct me, if I'm wrong. If you have a lot of time, you should be able to recompile all libs with the VC++ 2003 and overcome the c-runtime mixing problem this way.
