It has been discussed several times of the (very high IMO) desirability of
being able to auto-route arrows (especially in a crowded UML diagram). IIRC,
this involves doing graphviz-like things.
Of course, there's always the pipe trick, to avoid a hard dependency and
still reap the benefits when graphviz is installed (a la doxygen).
