http://docs.geoserver.org/stable/en/user/styling/sld-extensions/rendering-transform.html#heatmap-generation So, what you could do is to expose the event layer as an SQL view to Geoserver, and then use the newly added WMS layer functionality to serve the layer from Geoserver to DHIS2.
