Hello Peter, All create, edit and delete operations on metadata usually have logs on the back-end, check logs in dhis2home to find our what happened. They may also disappear if sharing settings have been changed in user groups permissions to those objects, or they were made private by the creator.
To get to the bottom of all the above you may need access to the database and logs in dhis2home Goodluck.
