Hi, sorry for the confusion there.

The symbols repo has been migrated to v7. You should no longer use the master branch from symbols for v6 dailies (as you noticed). Footprints have not yet been migrated in format, but will be eventually and already contain references to v7 paths. 3d models will not be migrated as they are not version-specific. As there have been major reorganizations to the library pending v7 release, and we're mid-migration, I would recommend the following:

1. For v6 daily builds, use the latest tagged v6 release for the library repos instead of master. You can use the v6 branches on symbols and footprint repos if you like, but those contain some significant changes compared to released versions, and may be disruptive to users.

2. For v7 daily builds, use master. Symbols master was in an inconsistent state the last few days and required a force push post migration to clean up, but is now good to use again.

As for 3. we are experimenting with a format conversion CI tool that will automatically convert everything to latest format. This may end up being used for future (post-v7) nightly versions, so they have libraries in their native format and we can spot conversion-related issues. Those are in the nightly-rolling branches, but only updated when manually triggered. Do not use for now.

Hi

I am building both the v6 and v7 kicad versions and want to verify that I am using correct branches for builds

1) For v6 daily builds is it ok to use
- kicad-symbols/origin/v6 branch
- kicad-footprints/origin/master
- kicad-packages3D/origin/master

2) For v7 daily builds
- kicad-symbols/origin/master
- kicad-footprints/origin/master
- kicad-packages3D/origin/master

3) kicad-symbols and kicad-footprints has now new origin/nightly-rolling branch. What is it's purpose compared to the master branch?
