I wasn't aware of, until this thread, or had forgotten the ntpmon curses
requirement. I don't really use ntpmon.

I looked into this for Debian (and derivatives). On Debian, the Python
curses module is part of the stdlib packaging, which is a dependency of
the interpreter package, for both Python 2 and Python 3. In other words,
no additional packages need to be installed for Python curses on Debian
and its derivatives (e.g. Ubuntu).
