I figured out another approach. Leave the old one commented out, but add a new symbol, say MODE_BCLIENTx with the same value (and a comment) and patch ntpq.py to use it. Did you document the b code? I'd like to expand that area rather than trim it. The obvious one is p for pool. -- These are my opinions.
