Hey Hal, While we are in it, up to our ears, regarding setup and operation...
Is there a consensus on DDNS? There are a few services which offer 'free dynamic DNS service': http://www.noip.com/ http://www.xname.org/ http://freedns.afraid.org/ ...and the delightful https://www.duckdns.org/ Would it make sense to bake DDNS registration into the recipe and move away from IP numbers? Following that train of thought - all the way to the crash site - how about certificates? https://letsencrypt.org/ Baking in certs from the 'reference' free CA may also be a Good Idea, no? - dan -----Original Message----- From: devel [mailto:devel-boun...@ntpsec.org] On Behalf Of Hal Murray Sent: Sunday, May 29, 2016 9:28 AM To: e...@thyrsus.com Cc: gpsd-...@nongnu.org; devel@ntpsec.org Subject: Re: Draft Stratum 1 Microserver HOWTO is up e...@thyrsus.com said: > One of the HOWTO's premises is that you have zeroconf. I thought part of the goal was to get more pool servers. That needs a fixed IP Address. I thought you avoided needing zeroconf by requiring a display and kbd on the SBC. If you are assuming zeroconf, I think that should be pointed out very early. Are there any other assumptions that might not be obvious? -- These are my opinions.
