Hi,

from reading the meeting transcript it seems that we still don't have
straight answer regarding QtLocation 5.6 ("checking at the moment").

However, I don't see the changes in the source code indicating exclusive
role of LGPLv3 among LGPL licenses. The LGPLv2.1 license is still there for
QtLocation module (see https://github.com/qt/qtlocation). By going through
branches, LGPLv2.1 is present in all of them, as far as I can see and the
change to LGPLv3 has not been fully done yet. I am not even sure its
possible to simply drop a license, unless they had such an agreement with
all the contributors to the project. [Note that I haven't read the license
text fully, mainly looked on the headers].

In addition, according to the official blog
http://blog.qt.io/blog/2016/01/13/new-agreement-with-the-kde-free-qt-foundation/
, move to LGPLv3 comes only after 5.6 (see section "No changes to Qt 5.6
and Qt for Device Creation" in the blog post).

Taking together, it does not seem to me that 5.6 has exclusively LGPLv3 but
includes LGPLv2.1 in QtLocation. As such, it should not be a problem to
include it into the upcoming update.
