Just adding as you've recently migrated to mgar: OVERRIDE_BUILDSYS in mgar eases globally testing a GAR branch. If set, the logic for locating the recipe-specific GAR branch (svn:externals, GARTYPE, default v2) is overriden by the given path for all recipes.
