The broken ABI was in vte291, so how could possibly update of gnome-terminal fix that? I mean yes, updated g-t probably does not use the specific method anymore, but the current compose is broken. And this will happen again and again as long as ABI is ignored. Actually if you really don't care about ABI, then please build Gnome in side tag and prevent Rawhide breakage.
