He's over 300 patches behind.  They may or may not still be to come.
It's also possible this issue is a new bug and is still present
upstream and there's nothing to backport.

You should file an issue with upstream Hyperkitty.  Nobody that is in
a position to fix it will pay any attention to your drive by sniping
