+1 @Igor: patches should be sent through bugzilla or by mail to package owners, unless you have a good reason like requests for comments or serious dispute w/ package owners though there are better ways. Moreover, not contacting package maintainer won't encourage provenpackagers to give it a shot if that's what you expected.
