One can see that the number of compiled packages is actually INCREASING.
It's just that the number of scripted packages is increasing even faster,
which is probably because it is really easy to throw together a half-working
quick hack in a scripting language and dumping it onto GitHub. (More and
more upstreams these days don't even bother making releases!)
