There is no 1.43 released yet, latest is 1.42.7 which I just built in rawhide. The "WIP" branch in git has the metadata checksum bits, so you could play with that if you want. I have no plans to backport unreleased upstream work in progress to Fedora, I don't think that'd be wise.
