What's the story with this? Has something happened upstream?

I currently use GeoIP for proftpd's mod_geoip module, which I'll have to discontinue if GeoIP goes away.

Perhaps look at "geome". I'm upstream, so I could add a mode to match
GeoIP output if that matters to you.
