Can't speak for absolutely all the listed packages, but we went through this 
bump for MSYS2 recently [1] (as did Arch [2]). AFAIK no problems encountered 
requiring patching for most...

It was similarly straightforward for the Imath 3.2 bump.

OpenEXR itself will need a small patch for openjph >=0.22 in Fedora though:
