Hi,
this a call for help. :-)
The history goes like this, I have updated to F43 and all was working normally
for more than one week.
On the first of September, when booting I got black screen after booting. No
key worked with the exception of the power key that would trigger a controlled
shutdown.
FWIW at this stage I was running sddm (as the display manager) and then
running plasma.
After some attempts I have entered in single mode. I have disabled sddm and I
have enabled gdm as the default display manager.
Unlike sddm, gdm worked but only worked for the gnome variants, not plasma.
The situation was not ideal, I prefer plasma, but I could certainly work on a
graphical way.
Then last Saturday, after an update and the following reboot, gdm no longer
works. It flashes several times and crashes. But now, unlike the case with
sddm, I have the tty's available.
I have installed lightdm, and since neither gnome or kde plasma would work, I
have also installed xfce. I can run xfce.
I have also found out, that most of the time, if I login into gnome (from
lightdm) that flashes and crashes, restart lightdm and the login into plasma
it works.
FWIW `dnf check` comes empty.
What should I check to find the culprit?
Could this be hardware related?
Best regards,
