Hi list,
for a while now (6.14 maybe?) I am encountering an issue in which RTC
does not advance during s0ix suspend, requiring me to run
$ chronyc makestep
after resume to fix the time. This is on Ryzen 4500U and Zenbook UM425IA
laptop. Has anyone else been seing this? Or can it be a sign of RTC
battery dying, if laptops even have one? Where should this be reported to?
Best regards,
Juliaj
After more detailed investigation, it appears that the hardware clock
keeps ticking, the system time does not. This is after an affected
resume - after running chrony makestep, date and hwclock outputs match:
$ date
Do 12. Jun 11:38:25 CEST 2025
$ sudo hwclock
2025-06-12 12:38:28.991075+02:00
$ sudo chronyc makestep
200 OK
$ sudo hwclock
2025-06-12 12:38:52.631258+02:00
$ date
What gives?
Best regards,
Julian
