The title seems a bit misleading? I did a double take reading it ...
may I suggest something like "Set default monospace fallback font"?

Since the actual effect is preventing Mono => Sans while a quick
reading of the title might suggest the opposite.

Overall, I am in favor, though a bit on the fence about whether this is
self contained or not, similar to what Peter noted above.
