I think this is an example of really bad communication from both sides. Clearly both you and Michel have put a lot of effort on packaging that software (it seems even if Michel review request was created after your, they were already working on it for sometime), duplicating the work. If it were me, I'd probably have closed Michel's review and asked them to post the fixes to your proposed spec. Anyway, I don't see any malicious intentions here. After the package was approved, you have been added as co maintainer, so I hope you and Michel can still cooperate to apply changes you think are needed to the package.
