ls -l | grep /etc/alternatives
then you will likely find a couple of symlinks using
the alternatives framework.
Once
that's done, the upgraded systems should get the merge automatically.
So I think it's better to do that rather than implemeent the merge
manually.
Thanks guys. Seems in may case more that just a couple:
arptables -> /etc/alternatives/arptables
arptables-restore -> /etc/alternatives/arptables-restore
arptables-save -> /etc/alternatives/arptables-save
ebtables -> /etc/alternatives/ebtables
ebtables-restore -> /etc/alternatives/ebtables-restore
ebtables-save -> /etc/alternatives/ebtables-save
ip6tables -> /etc/alternatives/ip6tables
ip6tables-restore -> /etc/alternatives/ip6tables-restore
ip6tables-save -> /etc/alternatives/ip6tables-save
iptables -> /etc/alternatives/iptables
iptables-restore -> /etc/alternatives/iptables-restore
iptables-save -> /etc/alternatives/iptables-save
OK I'll wait for it to happen auto-magically.
