Just an observation... I'm very happy for the assist, I don't have the time I used to for packaging and the dependency chain for this particular package is "fun", but as the primary maintainer for openexr, you can imagine my surprise as this announcement.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to contact the maintainer for a project prior to such announcements? Thanks, Richard
