For something that has the potential to
impact KDE users that would choose to
remain on X11, I would absolutely hope
there is more than just you involved in
the effort (busses, and vacations, happen).

Having something like a KDE-X11-SIG
team (made up name), with a few known
active members, would probably go a long
way to reduce the concerns of others
regarding tracking (and taking) bugs, and
lack of timely updates, for something as
visible as the entire desktop.
