Not that I want to dissuade you, but note that for many such scenarios,
GraphicsMagick is a drop-in replacement. Or close to drop-in. Rather than
one single command, everything goes through "gm". So instead of `convert`,
it's `gm convert`; instead of `mogrify`, `gm mogrify`. It was originally a
fork, but that was almost 20 years ago.
