Hello.
We found a strange issue with non-US keymaps. If the kbd-legacy package
is not installed (not installed on F34 by default[1]), the system will
hang on boot due to the "Failed to start Setup Virtual Console"[2] error.
Steps to reproduce on clean install:
1. Download Fedora Live ISO (tested on Fedora-KDE-Live-x86_64-34-1.2.iso).
2. Set non-English localization (tested on Russian) and perform standard
installation.
3. Anakonda will generate the following /etc/vconsole.conf file:
KEYMAP=ru
FONT=latarcyrheb-sun16
4. Reboot.
Steps to reproduce on any Fedora installations:
1. Remove kbd-legacy package:
sudo dnf remove kbd-legacy
2. Try to set ru keymap:
sudo localectl set-keymap ru
3. The error "Failed to set keymap: Keymap ru is not installed" will occur.
