Hi everyone,

I am writing to let everyone know that JDK Mission Control (JMC) and
it’s dependencies will be orphaned in Fedora by the end of tomorrow
(June 18th). This encompasses packages owned by both myself (almac)
and jkang, and includes the jmc and jmc-core packages along with the
dependencies we currently maintain.

This includes packages owned by:

almac, 4:
- jakarta-activation
- jakarta-mail
- mvel
- lz4-java

jkang, 8:
- felix-scr
- directory-maven-plugin
- HdrHistogram
- jaf
- jmc
- modules/jmc
- jmc-core
- owasp-java-encoder

I’ll be co-ordinating the orphaning of these packages by the end of
tomorrow. In their place, I have created a couple of copr repositories
containing rpm wrappers for AdoptOpenJDK’s JMC builds, which can be
used to install and use their JMC builds in Fedora. I currently have a
repo for the JMC 8.0.0 release
(https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/almac/jmc8/) and a repo for
snapshot builds
(https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/almac/jmc-snapshot/).

Regards,

Alex
