Well, the entire point of migrating from Pagure to Gitlab was to lower 
the development and maintaining needs of this service, so (sarcastic 
mode on) I would expect all these required changes and proxies to get 
feature parity with Pagure will be developed by Gitlab folks... before 
we migrate.......
