Thanks, I must have missed that thread. Deleting & recreating the subvolume works as expected, both in Blivet & Custom partitioning. We should probably change the error message from 'requires a new partition' to 'requires a new partition or btrfs subvolume' - that will make it clearer to users, I hope. I'll file a RFE bug for that.
