Macros expanded in comments is not an error so much as a warning. It
does not impede the build in any way.

This is the current issue. try to fedpkg prep on a tree without it.
That will give you a git tree.  You can apply the patch to that tree,
commit, and then 'git format-patch -1' to get your patch in the
correct format.
