I don't have that general opinion. Sometimes I need this or that. But for CI purposes (as an example), it is really really convenient to have **single** spec file which can be tested against all the platforms which I still consider "supported". No matter whether I at the end of the day really "sync" all the branches in fedora dist-git or not. Ad "%if-spaghetti" code; this proposal _exactly_ fights against the %if-hell problem since the logic is moved out from the package to the system.
