F8 and Esc should work. The change page [1] mentions also holding shift. It also mentions "sudo grub2-editenv - unset menu_auto_hide".
But it is interesting that: 1. it does not work 2. it does not unhide itself after failed boot. Both sounds as a bugs to me. V.
