I also encountered this problem before and I fixed it by respecting the
RPM_OPT_FLAGS. Before cmake, use:
export CFLAGS="${RPM_OPT_FLAGS}"
export CXXFLAGS="${RPM_OPT_FLAGS}"
This did the trick.
Obviously the problem depends on a compiler flag, but I can't tell you
which.
