At the moment the design goal is saying that doesn't matter so it'll keep
on running. There's no arbitrary method of disqualifying a Flatpak package,
e.g. with some kind of versioning method --> Flatpak 2 on Fedora could
support Flatpak 1 and 2 package applications, or it could refuse to run
Flatpak 1.


For that matter, are all Flatpak applications going to be third party?
