Probably the last hurdle is over. :-) I have updated pygsl to version 2.2.0 [1] that is compatible with gsl 2.1. The work started after I alerted upstream about the problem with the new release. The code in sf cvs did work for some time with gsl 2.1 but since F24 is not yet in beta I decided to wait for the stable release to update the package in Fedora.
